Cancellation Policy:
50% of the full lodging amount is due for the initial deposit. The initial deposit is non-refundable (please reach out to us if extenuating circumstances arise). The remainder of the total amount is due one month before check in. We will email an invoice for both initial deposit and final amount due. The initial deposit is required to reserve the cabin and the dates for your stay.
Reschedule Policy:
Should circumstances arise that make it impossible for you to stay at Alaska’s Backcountry Inn on the dates you originally booked, rescheduling is an option, if availability permits.
We want to work with you if difficult circumstances come up. Let us know if the dates you have booked no longer work for you and we will try to get you re-booked to a different date. Alternatively, if you choose to reschedule but do not have a specific date yet, we are happy to keep your deposit on file until that is settled. If you need to reschedule to the following summer, we are happy to keep that initial deposit on file, but you will be responsible for any difference in price increase from one season to the next, should prices increase. If you must change your reservation to the following season, you may do this 1 time only, and you must complete that reservation by the end of the following season (typically mid-September), or you will lose your initial deposit.

If feeling welcomed and comfortable are high on your list for places to stay, then the Alaskan Backcountry Inn is the place for you. And that's on top of breathtaking scenery and well appointed accommodations. The complete package! Always made to feel our adventure was their priority. Thank you Dana!!!Posted on Jane ChiuTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We stayed at the newly furnished cabin at Backcountry Inn. Everything was perfect. Cabin is impeccably decorated; kitchen was thoughtfully stocked; the view from the cabin both inside and out the balcony are the best in town. We felt like home with our stay. Last but not least, Dana and Courtney have been wonderful from the beginning to end, with answering our inquiries timely, to being incredible hosts who are friendly and kind. Joel was also very helpful. We can give 6 stars if we could. If you're coming to Lake Clark, we highly recommend Backcountry Inn.Posted on Parasaran RamanTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This place is so beautiful, its hard to describe it in words or with pictures. Dana is wonderful host - really quick with emails, picked us up from the airstrip, showed us around the area, gave us a well-stocked kitchen and some good tips for hikes! Even better she got us some smores supply!! Can't wait to come back to this place and spend more time.Posted on JoAnne HBTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We enjoyed our stay here when we visited Port Alsworth in August 2023. Courtney was very responsive and thought of everything for our stay. Our kitchen was equipped with coffee, some groceries like bagels, eggs, milk, and fruit. She even made sourdough blueberry muffins for us. 😊 The bed was very comfy, and the shower was so nice after a long day of hiking in rainy weather. We were able to go out kayaking in the bay for no extra charge in the two kayaks the family owns and keeps on hand. Having WiFi was a big help since there isn't a cell signal in Port Alsworth. We were able to stay in touch with Courtney using what's app. The view of Lake Clark is spectacular! While there is a kitchen in the suite, we just walked to the Farm Lodge for dinners each night (advanced reservations are required for that). Or we walked to get delicious burgers and milkshakes at the food truck run by the Samaritan Lodge folks. (Which is affiliated with Samaritan's Purse.) The national park visitor center is also walking distance. Courtney offered us rides, but we preferred to walk off all the calories from the milkshakes! A stay here can be pricey, but when you factor in how remote this location is, and the proximity to beautiful Lake Clark National Park, it makes sense. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks, Courtney!Posted on Kirk MillerTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had a great time staying here. It was clean, quiet, and well furnished. The kitchen had everything that I needed. The bed was very comfortable. The owners are nice people who are very accommodating and responsive.
While there are no traditional grocery stores nearby, guests can purchase food in Anchorage. Additionally, a local food truck operates from Monday to Saturday. We can also arrange for dining reservations at various local lodges. We recommend guests bring some groceries, especially if they have not opted for a meal-inclusive package.
